Motorgeluid

Henk van Zalinge (met pet) in gesprek met Ir. Boudewijn van DAF.

Henk Van Zalinge maakte als motortuner hij in de jaren vijftig en zestig faam met tweetaktmotoren.  Daarnaast bouwde hij muziekinstrumenten. Hij verwierf internationale bekendheid met het bouwen van basgitaren. Sting van The Police speelde op zijn ‘Z’-bas. Ik heb zelf een speciaal voor mij ontworpen electrische van Zalinge-viool uit 1979. Voor deze viool ben ik meermalen naar van Zalinge’s werkplaats in het Gooi  afgereisd om het optimale versterkte viool-geluid uit te zoekenheeft en gelijk onder de motorkap te leren luisteren. Ook voor zijn coureurs hing hij met zijn hoofd in de motorkap, om op het gehoor alles af te regelen.
